About Ancestral Roots & Functional Nutrition

Luke Stratford

Registered Nutritional Therapist in Hatfield

I currently work as a Nutritional Therapist in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. I have always been interested in the connection between diet and disease, often wondering why and how different food choices may lead to illness in some people but not in others, whilst also finding it difficult to reconcile the notion that illness is an inevitable consequence of ageing. This sense of intrigue led me to do my own research, bringing me to the conclusion that much of the information we have been provided with on nutrition is often misguided and not fully supported by science. These discoveries served as a catalyst to pursue a career in nutrition. Through my understanding of the principles of ancestral living, the science behind it, and how it supports our basic human physiology, as well as my own personal experience of actively including it in my life, I feel that I have a unique perspective on health and disease that has the ability to go a long way in helping others improve their health.

I have a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Kent, a Masters degree in Personalised Nutrition from the University of Middlesex, a Nutritional Therapy Diploma from the College of Nutrition Education & Lifestyle Management, and an NLP (neurolinguistic programming) practitioner certification. I am a member of the British Association of Nutrition and Lifestyle Management, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, and the Association for Neuro Linguistic Programming.

I found Luke to be very approachable and knowledgeable and he has a warm professional manner that puts you at ease. Luke listens carefully and is able to provide a holistic perspective on nutrition. I found it to be a very positive experience and it certainly enabled me to make dietary changes and develop good habits. Luke is very helpful and supportive and provides a thorough analysis of health and nutrition.

Luke is good to work with. He listened carefully to those things that are difficult for me, whilst giving me gentle and knowledgeable information about choices and changes I could make, that might work better for me.

I’ve been slowly and steadily eating more healthily, losing weight, and getting fitter since working with Luke 18 months ago. He gave me a better understanding of how to do this. These are really positive steps for me after years of yo-yo dieting.

I’m happy to recommend him wholeheartedly.

I saw Luke mainly via zoom sessions.  He was incredibly professional and thorough, building a map of my health from birth until the present time. Diet played a large part in regulating my blood sugar, general health, and helped me enormously with sleeping throughout the night. Luke was very supportive, I highly recommend him.

Just like to say a big THANK YOU to Luke for his great service and advice.
Luke worked with me one to one on Zoom. Giving me a very personal service.
I needed help with my diet and needed to identify different foods that were causing my inflammatory disorder.

Luke went through everything in a very thorough professional manner. He helped me learn more about my health, lifestyle, and eating habits. A post consultation summary was sent which I found very useful as I was able to refer to it and follow his guidance. Any time I needed help or advice from the first meeting Luke responded very quick to my concerns. Would highly recommend his services.

I contacted Luke after years of struggling with poor skin – namely eczema and acne. Unlike all the mainstream doctors who just prescribed me medication to cover up the symptoms, Luke really took the time to understand where in my body they were coming from. He helped me to understand my body so much better than I ever had or thought I could, offering me natural ways of supporting its processes. I’m so glad I decided to work with Luke and I can’t thank him enough for the ways in which he has helped to change my life inside and out.
